Courtney & Corey | The Orrmont Estate Farm | Piqua Barn Wedding

The limo blew a tire on the way to the venue. It rained. And rained. And rained some more until they moved the outdoor ceremony into the barn.  Vendors were scrambling to reset, and we were lucky to find an awning and a few dry spells to take photos.  A decoration on the hors d'oeuvre table crashed to the ground in front of all the guests as they were taking their seats, and the ceremony had a late start.

Just a few hiccups on wedding day, but Corey and Courtney were finally, blissfully married and ready to celebrate.

And then the lights went out.

Yep. The transformer blew, and the reception went dark and quiet. The DJ somehow MacGyver'ed a battery operated speaker and mic to start the speeches and dances and generally save the reception. Everybody danced and sweated in that beautiful old barn until Piqua Power repaired the transformer just before sunset.

While those things would make any wedding memorable, I will always remember how these two kind, beautiful, genuine humans laughed and cried happy tears through it all.

There's something about the act of dressing a bride that always gets me in the feels.  I think of all the times I've dressed my girls, and I'm reminded of them playing dress up in my "fancy" clothes.  My big sappy sentimental heart loves this part of the day.

Reason #71 why I like Courtney.  Those shoes!

Ouch! Just like when I was a kid and my mama tried to french braid my hair.  Those veil hair combs are no joke.

First Look with Dad.
I'm not crying.  You're crying.

See those dark skies?
In about 30 minutes, the transformer out front will blow and the reception will go dark.
Not even joking.

When your best friend tells that story.

Corey made a slideshow of Courtney and her dad, and surprised them with it during their first dance.

WE
HAVE
POWER!!!
