- It all started several years ago in a bar when a handsome gent overhead a gorgeous brunette gabbing with her friends about Star Wars. Disbelieving that a total babe could like the science fiction classic movies, he sat down at her table, introduced himself and had a conversation about Star Wars that would change his life.
- Adam and Heather, along with her two children, became a united family through marriage at the magnificent Cox Arboretum MetroPark. Among of backdrop of luscious flowers and willowy grasses, the couple planned an intimate Star Wars themed wedding and reception for their closest family and friends. I photographed Adam's cousin's wedding last fall. Dave and Amanda were so much fun at their wedding that I was really excited when Heather called me.
Adam was looking quite dapper on wedding day. His brothers and soon-to-be stepson stepped up to support him and to try to resist his Vader grip.
Heather's mother passed away when she was a child. Mama may have missed the chance to button Heather into her wedding dress, but her lovely granddaughter Hannah was there to help. If the deceased can somehow be present in our lives, I hope her Mama saw this moment of Heather, face upturned toward the light, gazing out the window toward the heavens and beaming while her daughter fastens her wedding dress.
Adam's mother was elated about the wedding. Love that sassy braided chignon.
Heather was radiant in a Wtoo by Charlize corseted, beaded and sequined gown with a sweatheart neckline.
Heather and Adam exchanged vows in front of their closest loved ones and dearest friends, and a couple of Storm Troopers.
Yep.
I said Storm Troopers.
Groom Adam was under strict instructions that he couldn't see the bride until she was walking down the aisle.
That moment when you see your beautiful bride for the first time and she's escorted down the aisle by your favorite Star Wars characters.
Elite Catering did a phenomenal job of providing a gourmet meal with a beautiful presentation.
Fifteen year old Hannah, the bride's daughter said that she didn't think it would be a big deal that her mom and Adam got married because "he's been living with us for so long." After the laughter died she went on to say how grateful she was that Adam has been a father to her and her brother and how amazing it is that they're now a family.
Becoming a united family through marriage is a blessing. Cheers to the new family.
- When I found out that Brian Miller and Doug Nichols were playing at the reception, I danced a happy jig. A Blue:30 reunion! Brian! Doug! OMG! These two amazingly talented musicians are dear to my heart. They are damn good musicians and incredibly entertaining, but they also have huge, giving hearts. Back when I was heavily involved in pediatric cancer fundraising with Team Gavin, these guys were the go-to band for charity drives. Do you have any idea how much is involved with dragging all that gear to a gig? And these boys did it for free numerous times and played their hearts out. To hear them play at Heather and Adam's reception was truly a pleasure.
